Festiball 2016 May 6, 7, 8 will be the 5 annual student weekender held at Bucks Students’ Union. Each year we grown from strength to strength and we now cater for 4,500 students over the weekend. Our stages over the last 4 years have been graced by the likes of Zane Lowe / DJ Fresh / Wilkinson / Foxes / Rudimental / Everything Everything / Danny Howard / Scouting For Girls / Utah Saints / Ms Dynamite / Saint Raymond / Jaguar Skills / Becky Hill / Danny McFly and Marvin Humes.
The theme this year is drawing on the space theme which many UK festivals are adopting this year including Wilderness, Glastonbury, Sercet Garden Party & Boomtown. Along side the peripheral activities including tents, bunting, performers, giant decor, outdoor activity, food vans, camper vans and of course great music. The silent disco dome has become a firm favourite at Festiball and will be back again along with a VIP area for third-year leavers – extra outdoor heated bars, cocktails, food stalls, real ale and a presence from our sponsors Jaegermeister and Relentless. Of course you can also expect all our favourite DJs with Unisex again helping curate the opening night. There will be appearances over the weekend from Soap, Blue Rinse, Crash, Juke, Trapbox and Frat House as well as a few surprise guests.

Big Narstie
Is an English rapper and MC, he started his career in 2003 as a member of grime crew N Double A, thought he is better known for his solo work. The two time UMA winner has many achievements under his belt and has collaborated with an endless list of artists, most recenetly being Craig David with the track ‘When The Bassline Drops’. He is well recognised and respected in the urban and grime scene and has just completed the BDL tour with Stylo G, Charlie Sloth and many more.

MistaJam
Forget trying to nail MistaJam to a genre for he’s a DJ who’s from the school of thought where only those who’ve perfected the art of mixing need apply. If it has a big beat, bassline and melody, chances are Jam’s in it.
Regularly causing people to get bunions at some of the finest clubs around the world, his fearless approach to delivering the ultimate blend has seen his army of supporters grow as quickly as he’s shrunk. Along with steadily achieving his weight loss plan, he’s risen through the ranks of BBC 1Xtra and Radio 1 at a speed that (a dramatically slower) Usain Bolt would be proud of.
Brookes Brothers
Brookes Brothers, are drum and bass duo from London. The two brothers discovered a love for the more soulful sounds of drum and bass around the turn of the millennium. Exclusively signed to DJ Fresh and Adam F’s label Breakbeat Kaos.
One of the most respected production partnerships in Drum and Bass, the Brookes Brothers have become a formidable force across the bass music scene. Known for their unique, soul and disco infused beats, the Brookes Brothers are one of the genres most accomplished production teams.

Charlie Tee
A season in Ibiza set in stone that dance music was her true calling. Her warm and affable nature helped her become the face of D&BTV, hosting their online live streams and regularly interviewing some of the drum & bass scenes key figures. With the lure of DJ’ing growing ever stronger, Charlie set about acquiring some DJ equipment. With the skills gained from playing house parties years earlier, she proceeded to finesse her talent for selection which eventually led to a weekly show on Westside FM.
Music fan, writer, blogger, presenter, DJ… There are already many strings to Charlie Tee’s bow and she’s only just getting started.

Circa Waves
Are a British Indie-Rock band formed in Liverpool in 2013, not holding back the band quickly released their first single the same year. In early 2014 Zane Lowe played the bands second single “Stuck In My Teeth” as his hottest record in the World, they followed this by opening the NME Awards Tour in March 2014. They then released their Young Chasers EP which got them a support slot with the 1975 and after a busy festival season they were announced as support for The Libertines. In 2015 they released their first album and had another successful festival season before embarking on a UK tour with sold out London dates at Brixton Academy.

Fickle Friends
Brighton quintet Fickle Friends spent most of 2014 whipping the UK blogosphere into a frenzy. Their debut single ‘Swim’ amassed nearly a million plays on Soundcloud and quickly propelled the band to the forefront of up and coming British pop acts/. Fronted by Natassja Shiner, the bands joyous synth pop gained plays from BBC introducing in the south and Mark Forest, Huw Stephens, Zane Lowe and even Billboard in the US started to take notice, as the bands profile grew. If you’re a fan of HAIM’s infectious pop style, it won’t take long for you to fall for Fickle Friends.

MASSAOKE
We are on a mission to bring “massaoke” joy to the whole nation.
The idea is simple. A brilliant live band plays pop, indie and rock anthems and the crowd sings along, guided by lyrics projected onto a giant screen.
There’s no dreaded karaoke spotlight here – this is massaoke, where everyone sings together and the crowd is the star of the show.
The result is a euphoric celebration of some of the best songs ever written.
Famous massaoke converts include
Al Murray, who regularly joins the band to play drums, and Phill Jupitus, Tim Vine, Sara Pascoe and Arthur Smith who have all led the singing. Meanwhile, footage of Channel 4’s Jon Snow singing Blur’s Parklife at one of their charity fundraisers for the Amy Winehouse Foundation has become a YouTube hit.
Launched by a group of friends in London four years ago, it now has a sell-out monthly residency at The Phoenix in Oxford Circus, along with a sister club in Glasgow.
The musical outfit also plays to packed tents at festivals across the country including Glastonbury and Latitude and sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Fuse ODG
Is urbans most thrilling new talent in years. Originally born in South London, Fuse moved to Ghana before returning to London for secondary school, bringing back a West African accent, the same twang that can still be heard through his catchy afrobeat vibes! With multi-million views on his videos on Youtube and over half a million likes on Facebook it is easy to understand why the 3 time MOBO winner is popular not only in the urban scene but also to a more commercial crowd, with huge dance floor filler hits that you can’t help but get down to!
