International volunteering

Volunteering overseas is the ultimate form of 'travel with a purpose', providing the opportunity to meet new people, develop new skills, and have life and career-enhancing experiences.

Volunteering abroad can be one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences of your life and can be hugely beneficial for you and the community you visit.

East African Playgrounds

It’s all about experiencing a new culture whilst giving children their childhoods through play. Weekdays volunteering at a school building a playground and weekends exploring the amazing activities on offer in Uganda. What’s not to love?

By volunteering with East African Playgrounds on the Uganda Volunteer Project you will experience four incredible weeks. Living and volunteering in a local community to help transform a community school by building an amazing new playground from start to finish with a team of trained Ugandan builders and welders. You will also assist with our creative play programme to inspire children at a school to learn, explore and develop themselves.

At the weekends, you’ll have the chance to explore the wonders of Uganda, from discovering the animals on safari to explore the mighty River Nile or taking a relaxing walk along the banks of the river on horseback ... there is something for everyone.

We are also looking for a challenge leader for the Uganda Volunteer Project. Working with East African Playgrounds and Bucks Students' Union you will be the East African Playgrounds student voice on campus. Your main role will be helping to promote the Bucks project and recruit the Bucks volunteer team.

For more information on our East African Playgrounds trip, you can email volunteer@eastafricanplaygrounds.org volunteering@bucks.ac.uk or visit www.eastafricanplaygrounds.org
