Overview

Want to try something new, or interested in developing a skill further?

These sessions are designed to capture the core of storytelling on paper, training your eye and teaching communication. But more than that, it is fun!

Each session will highlight a different theme drawn from a variety of sources; film, books, graphic novels, artists from history or genres. The models will work to put across the personality and attitude of the theme through the poses and a minimum of costuming and accessories. Who the characters are and the theme will be revealed on a weekly basis! Come and be surprised and ready to draw! We’ll start with warm ups working through gestural drawing techniques to master the whole figure and move onto longer sessions where you can hone your scene using a variety of drawing materials. Drawing materials and paper will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your favourite pencils, pens, markers or pigments to work with.

Life Drawing Tutor: Anne-Marie Perks has been teaching students with a broad range of experience in life drawing for many years, and believes that life drawing is for lIfe! She not only loves teaching drawing to a wide audience of students from across all the university courses for the Students' Union but also teaches drawing from life (people, places and things) to animation and concept art students.

The course will run every Wednesday evening from 8 February to 15 March in the Art Studio between 5-7pm.

We require a £5 deposit to reserve your place, however, this will be refunded to you once you have attended all the sessions.
