This event is part of our joint commitment with the University to raise awareness and tackle the stigma that surrounds mental health. We will be joined by visitors from Wycombe Mind and there will be an opportunity to watch Time to Talk’s latest film before enjoying free Domino’s pizza. Guests will be invited to make personal pledges on cardboard pizza slices, that will be made into bunting after the event.
Time to Talk Day aims to bring the nation together to get talking and break the silence around mental health problems. One in four people experience mental health problems yet many people are still afraid to talk about it.
Time to Talk Day is an initiative organised by Time to Change which was established in 2007 and is run by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, with funding from the Department of Health, Comic Relief and the Big Lottery Fund.
At the Uxbridge Campus, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Manager Pam Owen will have a staff information stall between 1-2pm on the second floor and hopes staff will be able to spare some time to talk.
