Overview

Supporting refugees and being inspired by their stories is the main focus of this event, which is in collaboration with Wycombe Refugee Partnership, Bucks New University, High Wycombe Helping Others, Amnesty International and Wycombe Quaker Meeting.

This event is an opportunity to learn about local initiatives as well as those in France and in Samos, including special guest speakers Prof  Eleonore Kofman (Middlesex University), Tom Doust (High Wycombe Helping Others), Taz Mohamad (Slough Refugee Support) and Toni Brodelle (Wycombe Refugee Partnership). An exhibition featuring posters of photographs from the Magnum photo agency will also be on show; from an exhibition recently held at London’s Southbank Centre by Amnesty International. Performing Arts students at Bucks will also be doing some readings from the play 'Fugee' and the documentary ‘Exodus: Our Journey to Europe’ will be screened in a breakout session.

There will also be a variety of stalls at the event and a raffle taking place, in aid of High Wycombe Helping Others and Wycombe Refugee Partnership.
