Overview

Fancy trying something new one Thursday evening, or want to brush up on your art skills? Come along to one of our FREE drop in Life Drawing sessions!

Myth and storytelling is a part of our everyday life. It inspires, informs and entertains us. Most importantly, story opens our minds and hearts to imagination and the desire to express our personal stories inside them. Over four weeks, working with a model with poses of varying lengths and variation, we’ll connect with different themes inspired by story. In these drop in sessions, drawers will be encouraged to experiment with elements of colour like watercolour and crayons in their drawings along with charcoal, graphite and ink. The catalyst to release our imaginations will be different in every session. Maybe a poem, a short story or film.

Anne-Marie Perks has worked for publishers, design studios and for film. She has degrees in Fine Art, Illustration and Animation and MA in children’s book illustration. She has studied at University California, Riverside, Art Centre College of Art, Pasadena, North Wales School of Art and Design, Royal Drawing School and Central St Martins, London. When not teaching on the Independent Games Production or Animation and Visual Effects courses at Bucks New Uni, she works on independent commissions and on her own stories for different medias from her studio in Chesham.

The sessions will take place each Thursday at the High Wycombe campus 17:00-19:00 from 8th Feb to 1st March 2018.

There is no need to sign up to this event, but if you would like to come please email surecactivities@bucks.ac.uk with your name, student ID number and the dates you would like to attend!
