Help us create vibrant and meaningful banners celebrating Pride, inclusion, and community spirit. Work together or independently to design eye-catching banners filled with positive messages, artwork, and Pride colours that can be displayed throughout the event or at future celebrations. This activity is a chance to be creative, share supportive messages, and contribute to a welcoming and visible celebration of LGBTQ+ identities and allyship.

As Wycombe Pride is coming up on Saturday 13th June, we want to provide a space for students to create their own decorations!!

The Paramedicine Society have collaborated with the NHS to bring a donation point to BNU.

Why do we need you to give blood?

We need new blood donors from all backgrounds to ensure there is the right blood available for patients who need it.

We need:

4,300 blood donations every day on average to meet the needs of our hospitals
over 140,000 people to donate blood for the first time this year
12,000 new Black heritage donors, to meet the growing demand for ethnically matched blood for sickle cell patients who need regular transfusions to stay alive
more young people aged 17-35 to donate, to ensure we have enough blood for the future

The Big Bucks Meal Deal

A project derived from the cost-of-living campaign run by Bucks Students' Union to make sure you are fed and well. The campaign aims to tackle food poverty within the student community at BNU by The Lounge hosting three free hot meals a week. This is funded and supported by BNU and delivered by Bucks Students' Union.

Where is it?

The Lounge in Bucks Students' Union (look for the large elected officer banner and head in that direction). You can walk along the road with the speed bumps from the Gateway reception to find the banner.

When is it?

Three times a week on Tuesday and Thursdays 5PM-7PM (or when they run out!) and Sundays from 6PM - 8PM. You'll just need to bring your student ID and a good appetite.

This is all free to help with the cost-of-living crisis.

Description:

Interesting in drawing, and would like to try out life drawing?

Life drawing is a form of art where you draw the human figure from observation, in general the model is nude. The model is normally held in certain poses, but can also be moving.

The session starts at 7.30 but please arrive 10-15 minutes beforehand to get set up. It starts off with short poses to loosen up creative muscles, with poses increasing in length over the session. After a 15-minute refreshment break, there will be one or two longer poses. The evening ends with a chance to enjoy each other’s work and swap ideas.

Bring your own pens, pencils, paper and any other materials that you may need. There will also be a supply of basic materials such as charcoal, pencils and paper to help you get started. Drawing boards are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own easel or other equipment.

Sign up for this self-guided Treasure Hunt themed Trail! As you follow the route, you'll encounter sneaky clues hidden on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments, leading you to the location of the buried treasure.

Starting at the swimming baths, the circular route takes you on a journey through both rural and urban areas, giving you a taste of the town's past as a renowned furniture maker.

Once upon a time, the High Street was filled with bustling coaching inns, as it was a popular stop on the road from London to Oxford. But, it was also a haven for the notorious highwayman, I. Gotchaloot, who boasted about his ability to outsmart all of his fellow thieves combined. In just a few short years, he amassed a great fortune before retiring to an island off the coast, taking his ill-gotten gains with him. But now, a map and a list of Clues have been discovered in the basement of one of the coaching inns where Gotchaloot used to frequent. The Exploration Society has enlisted the help of their BEST adventurers to follow the Clues and uncover the hidden treasure. Are YOU up for the challenge?

These quick query advice sessions are free, confidential and impartial and on the first Tuesday of every month from noon to 1.30 pm on Floor 1 of the Pulse Cafe, Uxbridge Campus (outside the SU Office).

Hughenden Manor are providing free entry to all BNU students during the exam season (1st - 21st June).

This is to provided a peaceful and quiet place to revise (Wi-Fi available across the site and in the cafe) or a calm greenspace environment to de-stress. There is no catch to this offer - we simply want to try and support our local students during their studies.

Set in an unspoiled Chiltern valley with views of ancient woodlands and rolling hills, Hughenden offers a restful retreat from the pressures of everyday life, just as it did for Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, and his wife Mary Anne. Outside, the surrounding views of the parkland invite you to explore the estate, following picturesque walking trails that take in the historic landscape of the Chiltern beech woods. In contrast to the exotic trees on the North Lawn, the Italianate formal gardens showcase annual beds full of the bold colours the Disraelis loved. Inside the manor, you can discover the top-secret Second World War operation codenamed ‘Hillside’.

All you need to do is show your Student ID when you arrive to take advantage of the free admission.

Whether you assist with event planning, volunteer on the day, or offer your skills in other ways, your support will help create a memorable and impactful Pride celebration for everyone involved.
