Whether you’re a current student or just joining us this new year, it’s not too late to join a society, sign up for some volunteering work, or take part in sports (both competitive or for fun).

On Wednesday 30 September noon-5pm we'll be holding our Freshers’ Fair where you’ll have the chance to meet our amazing clubs and societies, learn about taking part in impactful opportunities, and so much more. Sign up to as many as you like, with no membership fees thanks to The Big Deal. With pizza, prizes, and great music and vibes - this is one event you don't want to miss out on.

Air Ambulances UK (AAUK) is the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities, helping them to save even more lives every day. Air ambulance charities deliver advanced pre-hospital critical care to patients who have suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries or medical emergencies, bringing the Emergency Department directly to the scene.
We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly Fundraising Volunteers to support a series of exciting upcoming events in partnership with national organisations, including a major fundraising week this summer.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a public-facing fundraising initiative, helping to raise awareness and vital funds for air ambulance charities across the UK.
You’ll engage with members of the public in busy locations, helping to highlight the importance of supporting air ambulance charities, which rely almost entirely on donations to continue their vital work.

What will you be doing?
As a Fundraising Volunteer, you may be involved in:
• Speaking to members of the public about the work of air ambulance charities
• Encouraging donations (including cashless options)
• Handing out leaflets and raising awareness
• Supporting fun, simple engagement activities (e.g. games, quizzes, giveaways)
• Helping deliver family-friendly activities
• Creating a welcoming, positive presence at events
• Representing AAUK and the wider air ambulance sector
• Most importantly – having fun while supporting a life-saving cause
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who are:
• Friendly, approachable and confident speaking to the public
• Passionate about supporting charitable causes
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team
• Proactive and enthusiastic
• Happy to get involved in a variety of activities
No previous volunteering or fundraising experience is required – just a positive attitude!

Time commitment
Our initial campaign will run from 1st – 8th August, with volunteer shifts available across multiple locations.
• Flexible shifts (morning, afternoon or full day)
• You can sign up for as much or as little time as you’re able to give
• Opportunities to support future events beyond August

Air ambulance charities across the UK respond to more than 45,000 missions every year, delivering advanced critical care at the scene to patients in urgent need.
As these services are funded largely through public donations, volunteer support plays an important role in helping raise awareness and vital funds to ensure they can continue their work across the UK.

Relaxed and informal afternoons of creativity and community - monthly and free.

Whether you consider yourself to have no artistic talent, are a budding artist or just dabble in crafts every so often, you are very welcome to join. We will be creating on our own and with each other in a calm atmosphere. You are welcome to come for as little or as long as you like.

Who is this event for?

Any people of LGBTQIA+ or questioning identities aged 18 + are welcome to join us! Safe spaces code of conduct will be in place.

We recognise that you might need different things from this event, be it creating connections and hearing about others experiences, having a chance to reflect on your own queer experiences and needs, or simply have protected space to craft and use your hands. Whichever one it is, we hope you join us and find it.

While some people bring their friends, family members or parner/s to the session, lots of people come on their own - if you're feeling nervous, get in touch.

Please note we are welcoming individuals to come as themselves - this is not a space to come to as an organisation or party.

What are we crafting?

We'll be switching between various activities like paper crafts, painting, sculpting and textile based activities like knitting crochet and embroidery for all sessions, with materials provided and people to guide you if you're new to a material/process. If you have never crafted before, we always have simple activities you can just pick up with no previous knowledge (e.g. beaded bracelets).

You can bring your own crafts or projects to each session.

6:45 PM (ish): Hear from our Guest Partners! Grab your drink and gather round to hear from the brilliant team at Lucy & Yak Nottingham as they share insights into their circular initiatives and brand values.
7:00 PM (ish): The Swap opens!

Your Ticket Includes: A delicious hot or cold drink on arrival!

In 1925, Lon Chaney terrified audiences with his signature ghoulish make-up as the murderous and mysterious Phantom, sparking the flame for endless adaptations, countless pop culture references, and a hit West End musical. Yet another adaptation is rumoured to be in production, with even Guillermo del Toro throwing his name in the hat following his 2025 film of that other misunderstood Universal Monster, Frankenstein.

But what is it about the story of an angry incel living in the bowels of the Paris Opera House that has kept public interest going for over a hundred years?

In this 3-hour session, we’ll dive into the origins of the story, tracking through time as the Phantom develops from genius madman to romantic Byronic hero, to vicious killer and back again.

Adaptations covered include Andrew Lloyd Webber, Joel Schumacher, Dario Argento, Brian de Palma and Terence Fisher to name just a few.

Masks and capes welcome, but please leave your noose at home.

Children from the ages of 4 until 11 can join us for a week of fun on Buryfield, Great Missenden, each day from 10:00 - 15:30.

They will be involved in sports, craft and Bible teaching throughout the day. We also run an adult and toddler morning session called 'Toddler Lighthouse' for our youngest attendees (no pre-registration is required).

Letting Grow wants to influence a generation to love, care and support our beautiful planet.
We curate workshops, courses and away days for inner city schools and urban communities to improve people's connection with nature.
We've turned unused areas in playgrounds into thriving allotments, grown fruit and veg for school kitchens and run tree planting initiatives.
Creating accessible and inclusive green spaces is at the centre of what we do. We offer a chance for everybody to get outside, get their hands dirty and experience nature.

Letting Grow is transforming the outdoor space at Greenford Library into a new community garden.
What is currently an underused grass area will become an accessible green space for local residents, community groups, young people and wildlife. The garden will include growing areas, sensory planting, seating spaces and habitats for pollinators, creating a welcoming place for
people to connect with nature.
This is an opportunity to be involved from the very beginning and help create a lasting community asset for Greenford. Individuals and groups are welcome.

This three-hour course explores how Buffy transformed television storytelling. We’ll examine how the series draws on classic narrative structures like the hero’s journey, while using monsters as metaphors for adolescence, identity, and growing up. We’ll also explore its feminist legacy, celebrating its groundbreaking portrayal of female power, while considering how this reads through a more complex modern lens.

We’ll also look at how Buffy redefined what television could achieve: blending horror, fantasy, comedy, and soap opera into something entirely new, and pioneering long-form storytelling that shaped the future of TV.

Across the session, we’ll explore the creation of the show and take a closer look at key iconic episodes, examining how Buffy plays with format, genre, and mythology to create a piece of television history that changed everything.

Meet us at 10.30am at the vehicle entrance to Chairborough LNR - a gate situated off Chairborough Road, by McLellan Place, HP12 3UL. W3W: items.charmingly.tanks. Free parking is available on Chairborough Road but please park considerately and car share where possible.

If you would like a lift to the site, we have space in one of our vehicles for a limited number of people. We will be leaving from our depot at 9.45am prompt and will return you there after the session. The address is Kingsmead Depot, 60 Fennels Road, High Wycombe, HP11 1SL. If you do need a lift, please book a separate ticket for that as well as an 'add-on'.

You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket!

The Task:

Come along for a lovely morning in nature, connecting with other women and discovering the hidden delights of this beautiful nature reserve. We will have some time for a guided exploration of nature on the site and also join in a variety of light conservation tasks.

What to Bring:

Bring along gardening gloves if you have them (we will have plenty of spares) and dress for the weather and the task - long trousers are advisable to protect against ticks and thorny vegetation.

Please bring your own filled water bottle.

We will be bringing a tea kit and biscuits.
