This short cruise goes upstream to Boveney Lock & returns with fantastic views of Windsor Castle, Eton College, Mill House, Windsor Racecourse & the Brocas Meadows.The view of the Castle from the river is undoubtedly the finest there is, making this trip excellent for those who are visiting Windsor for the first time.

During the trip, you will be given a leaflet providing history and information about the river. The river ride is a total of 40 minutes.

After the boat tour, you will have some time to explore windsor.

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day and shortest night of the year, a time of renewal, abundance, and light. Ancient cultures across the world have celebrated this powerful turning point, honouring the sun’s peak with fire, dance, and ritual.

Central to the celebration is the Oak King and the Holly King, mythical figures representing the ever-turning cycle of the seasons. At the Summer Solstice, the Oak King, ruler of the light half of the year, reaches his height of power—only for the Holly King to begin his slow return, bringing the promise of winter’s renewal.

To honour this age-old tradition, we invite all to gather, revel, and celebrate the season together.

Midsummer Marshmallow Firepit – Join us at the Walled Garden Paddock as we light the fire to mark the occasion.

Live Folk Music – Let the sounds of traditional folk music set the tone for an evening of celebration in the field.

Morris Dancing – Watch and join in this lively and historic summer tradition.

Costume Competition – Come dressed as the Oak King, Holly King, or Lady of the Flowers and win a prize!

Description:

In 1925, Lon Chaney terrified audiences with his signature ghoulish make-up as the murderous and mysterious Phantom, sparking the flame for endless adaptations, countless pop culture references, and a hit West End musical. Yet another adaptation is rumoured to be in production, with even Guillermo del Toro throwing his name in the hat following his 2025 film of that other misunderstood Universal Monster, Frankenstein.

But what is it about the story of an angry incel living in the bowels of the Paris Opera House that has kept public interest going for over a hundred years?

In this 3-hour session, we’ll dive into the origins of the story, tracking through time as the Phantom develops from genius madman to romantic Byronic hero, to vicious killer and back again.

Adaptations covered include Andrew Lloyd Webber, Joel Schumacher, Dario Argento, Brian de Palma and Terence Fisher to name just a few.

Masks and capes welcome, but please leave your noose at home.

The recipes change every month so you can try a variety of recipes.

Fancy Volunteering during the summer and helping children with Activities

Children from the ages of 4 until 11 can join us for a week of fun on Buryfield, Great Missenden, each day from 10:00 - 15:30.

They will be involved in sports, craft and Bible teaching throughout the day. We also run an adult and toddler morning session called 'Toddler Lighthouse' for our youngest attendees (no pre-registration is required).

Letting Grow wants to influence a generation to love, care and support our beautiful planet.
We curate workshops, courses and away days for inner city schools and urban communities to improve people's connection with nature.
We've turned unused areas in playgrounds into thriving allotments, grown fruit and veg for school kitchens and run tree planting initiatives.
Creating accessible and inclusive green spaces is at the centre of what we do. We offer a chance for everybody to get outside, get their hands dirty and experience nature.

Letting Grow is transforming the outdoor space at Greenford Library into a new community garden.
What is currently an underused grass area will become an accessible green space for local residents, community groups, young people and wildlife. The garden will include growing areas, sensory planting, seating spaces and habitats for pollinators, creating a welcoming place for
people to connect with nature.
This is an opportunity to be involved from the very beginning and help create a lasting community asset for Greenford. Individuals and groups are welcome.

What will happen during the event?

When you first arrive, you'll be greeted with a complimentary coffee courtesy of The Hidden Brew Coffee Shop, and then shown to your seat where you'll find all the drawing equipment you could ever need.
After being split into 3 groups, your group will pick an item to draw, and each of you will draw 1 of 3 sections of this drawing.
At the end of the session, your groups drawings will be pieced together, and shown to the rest of the workshop, hopefully resulting in some fun and unique creations.

The event will be run by Nottingham local artist James Marshall, alongside The Drawing Room Gallery and The Hidden Brew Coffee Shop.

We’ll examine how the series draws on classic narrative structures like the hero’s journey, while using monsters as metaphors for adolescence, identity, and growing up. We’ll also explore its feminist legacy, celebrating its groundbreaking portrayal of female power, while considering how this reads through a more complex modern lens.

We’ll also look at how Buffy redefined what television could achieve: blending horror, fantasy, comedy, and soap opera into something entirely new, and pioneering long-form storytelling that shaped the future of TV.

Meet us at 10.30am at the vehicle entrance to Chairborough LNR - a gate situated off Chairborough Road, by McLellan Place, HP12 3UL. W3W: items.charmingly.tanks. Free parking is available on Chairborough Road but please park considerately and car share where possible.

If you would like a lift to the site, we have space in one of our vehicles for a limited number of people. We will be leaving from our depot at 9.45am prompt and will return you there after the session. The address is Kingsmead Depot, 60 Fennels Road, High Wycombe, HP11 1SL. If you do need a lift, please book a separate ticket for that as well as an 'add-on'.

The Task:

Come along for a lovely morning in nature, connecting with other women and discovering the hidden delights of this beautiful nature reserve. We will have some time for a guided exploration of nature on the site and also join in a variety of light conservation tasks.

What to Bring:

Bring along gardening gloves if you have them (we will have plenty of spares) and dress for the weather and the task - long trousers are advisable to protect against ticks and thorny vegetation.

Please bring your own filled water bottle.

We will be bringing a tea kit and biscuits.

4,300 blood donations every day on average to meet the needs of our hospitals

12,000 new Black heritage donors, to meet the growing demand for ethnically matched blood for sickle cell patients who need regular transfusions to stay alive
more young people aged 17-35 to donate, to ensure we have enough blood for the future

Starting at the swimming baths, the circular route takes you on a journey through both rural and urban areas, giving you a taste of the town's past as a renowned furniture maker.

Once upon a time, the High Street was filled with bustling coaching inns, as it was a popular stop on the road from London to Oxford. But, it was also a haven for the notorious highwayman, I. Gotchaloot, who boasted about his ability to outsmart all of his fellow thieves combined. In just a few short years, he amassed a great fortune before retiring to an island off the coast, taking his ill-gotten gains with him. But now, a map and a list of Clues have been discovered in the basement of one of the coaching inns where Gotchaloot used to frequent. The Exploration Society has enlisted the help of their BEST adventurers to follow the Clues and uncover the hidden treasure. Are YOU up for the challenge?

This is to provided a peaceful and quiet place to revise (Wi-Fi available across the site and in the cafe) or a calm greenspace environment to de-stress. There is no catch to this offer - we simply want to try and support our local students during their studies.

Set in an unspoiled Chiltern valley with views of ancient woodlands and rolling hills, Hughenden offers a restful retreat from the pressures of everyday life, just as it did for Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, and his wife Mary Anne. Outside, the surrounding views of the parkland invite you to explore the estate, following picturesque walking trails that take in the historic landscape of the Chiltern beech woods. In contrast to the exotic trees on the North Lawn, the Italianate formal gardens showcase annual beds full of the bold colours the Disraelis loved. Inside the manor, you can discover the top-secret Second World War operation codenamed ‘Hillside’.

The Paramedicine Society have collaborated with the NHS to bring a donation point to BNU.

Why do we need you to give blood?

We need new blood donors from all backgrounds to ensure there is the right blood available for patients who need it.

We need:

4,300 blood donations every day on average to meet the needs of our hospitals
over 140,000 people to donate blood for the first time this year
12,000 new Black heritage donors, to meet the growing demand for ethnically matched blood for sickle cell patients who need regular transfusions to stay alive
more young people aged 17-35 to donate, to ensure we have enough blood for the future
