Shutdown returns for a special Black History Month celebration, headlined by one of the UK's biggest Afroswing collectives - NSG.

Formed by a group of friends who met at school and grew up around Hackney, NSG have Ghanaian and Nigerian roots and have built their distinctive sound by bringing together Afrobeats, hip-hop, dancehall and UK rap influences. Since releasing their first music in 2013, they've grown into one of the most recognisable groups in the UK Afroswing scene.

Get ready to hear massive tracks including "Options", which reached the UK Top 10, alongside "OT Bop," "Lupita," "Ourself," "Trust Issues" and more. NSG also made history when they became the first act to reach No.1 on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart when the chart launched in 2020.

Expect a huge live performance, massive production and all the energy of Shutdown as we come together to celebrate Black music, culture and creativity for Black History Month.

Why do we need you to give blood?

We need new blood donors from all backgrounds to ensure there is the right blood available for patients who need it.

We need:

4,300 blood donations every day on average to meet the needs of our hospitals
over 140,000 people to donate blood for the first time this year
12,000 new Black heritage donors, to meet the growing demand for ethnically matched blood for sickle cell patients who need regular transfusions to stay alive
more young people aged 17-35 to donate, to ensure we have enough blood for the future

Want to learn a practical skill that could come in handy both on and off the pitch?

Get hands-on with our Sports Taping Course and learn how taping can be used to support joints, provide stability and help athletes stay active. You’ll be introduced to different types of sports tape and shown practical techniques for areas such as the ankle, wrist, knee and shoulder.

This is a practical, interactive session where you’ll get the chance to have a go yourself, build your confidence and learn a skill you can take with you into sport, university and the workplace.

Whether you’re a sports student, studying physiotherapy or healthcare, part of a sports club, an aspiring coach, or simply interested in learning something new, this course is for you!

Participants will explore proven techniques for prioritizing tasks, creating efficient schedules, and making the most of their time—whether they are balancing work deadlines, personal commitments, or both. By integrating time management principles with practical scheduling tools, this course will equip you with the strategies needed to stay on track, reduce stress, and boost your overall efficiency.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Master time management fundamentals: Understand key time management principles and how to avoid common time wasters.

This isn’t your typical night on the town. Get ready to fly high and find the FUN as our Rush playlist keeps the atmosphere running all night. Explore our most exciting equipment, from Extreme Dodgeball, Wipeout, our huge AirBag, slam dunk basketball, Rush assault course or simply dance your way down our sea of wall-to-wall, interconnected trampolines with you and your friends.

We have tickets for the sunset session, where they turn the lights down, throw on the UV lights, crank the music right up, and open the doors.

You need to complete a waiver before you can start jumping. There are lockers available for all to use.

In May 2024 we unveiled our new Operations area and Clinical Education space, part of an expansion of our existing HQ in Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire.

The new facilities mean that, while our helicopter continues to fly from RAF Benson, our fleet of Critical Care Response Vehicles now operate from Stokenchurch. As well as bringing most of the crew and charity staff together under one roof, the newly expanded HQ brings our cars closer to vital road networks via the M40, ensuring speedy access to those in need.

The expanded HQ has state-of-the-art facilities and bespoke areas, designed with crew in mind. In our Operations area, there is a spacious kit room to re-pack after a callout and a wellbeing room, so that crew have a place to relax during a rare moment of downtime. For the first time ever, we have a dedicated space for Clinical Education. Here, critical care paramedics and doctors can train for all eventualities and practice complex procedures in realistic conditions.

Our 2026 Open Days are a unique opportunity to see 'behind the scenes' as well as finding out more about how the charity has evolved in it's 25-year history and how your support keeps us at the frontline of saving lives.

These drop-in sessions are designed to give students the opportunity to develop a range of practical employability and life skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. Each session will be tailored to the needs and interests of the majority of students in the room, meaning the content can be adapted to focus on the areas students feel would be most useful to them.

Sessions will cover a variety of topics that can support students both during university and as they prepare for the workplace.

The sessions will be practical and interactive, giving students the opportunity to discuss different situations, share experiences, ask questions and practise skills they can use in real-life situations. Students will also be encouraged to identify their own strengths and areas for development, helping them build confidence and recognise how the skills they develop through university, work, volunteering and everyday experiences can contribute to their future employability.

Description:

The 1-Day Emergency First Aid at Work training for the EFAW qualification equips you with basic life-saving first aid skills, as well as an understanding of workplace health and safety regulations. This FAIB accredited emergency first aid course is recognised by SIA.

This course complies with Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981 and updates learners of any change in practice and guidelines.

Modules Breakdown:

Minor cuts, grazes, splinters, and burns
Choking
Shock
Wounds and bleeding
Diabetes
Asthma
Strokes
Anaphylactic shock
Heart attacks and angina
Unconscious colleagues
AED (external defibrillator)
Illnesses
Bruises, sprains, strains
Scalds

The course will also educate employees on how to handle a wide range of specific work-related situations, as well as teaching them cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

EFAW Exams and Assessment:

Candidates will be assessed by their trainer throughout the day to ensure that all learning outcomes are achieved.
Successful learners will receive an FAIB-accredited emergency first aid at work qualification.

Entry Requirements:

There are no entry requirements for this emergency first aid at work course.
However, candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures required to meet HSE assessment criteria

You don’t need to be particularly crafty or artistic - these nights are all about having fun, switching off and spending time with others. Get ready, Bucks – we’re ending Freshers Fortnight in style with ArrDee headlining the Freshers Ball!

ArrDee is one of the most recognisable names to emerge from the new generation of UK rap, breaking through in 2021 following his appearance on the chart-topping “Body” remix. He went on to achieve major success with hits including “Flowers (Say My Name),” “Oliver Twist,” “War” with Aitch and “Wasted” with Digga D, while his debut mixtape Pier Pressure reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart.

This is an event not to miss – with incredible production, dazzling décor, and a completely transformed space, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the start of your university journey with your new friends.
