Job title: Catering Assistant

Grade/salary: Grade C – starting salary of £19,623 FTE
Contract: Full time 37 hours per week, 12 months fixed term contract, shift start times varying from 07.30 to 09.30 Monday to Friday

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:
- To assist the Catering Manager and Assistant Catering Manager in the day-to-day management of commercial activities in order to achieve set budgets, in accordance with agreed standards procedures and parameters.
- To serve customers with food and beverages in a polite and friendly manner, showing high standards of customer care at all times.
- To help provide efficient and appropriate service to customers.
- To operate tills, taking cash and giving change in line with set procedures.
- To handle cash, stock and equipment in a secure manner.
- To ensure that adequate filling of displays as and when necessary.
- To order stocks appropriate to demand and be accountable for control and storage of that stock.
- To assist in the preparation and cooking of food for resale.
- To observe and work within health, safety, hygiene and other regulations pertaining to the operation of the premises.
- To report any potential hazards to Catering Manager/Assistant Catering Manager/Line Management.
- To keep all food areas clean and tidy before, during and after operating hours and to undertake cleaning duties as directed.
- To attend training events when required.
- To undertake other duties as directed by the Catering Manager or Assistant Catering Manager commensurate with this job description
