What is Peer Assisted Learning (PAL)?

BNU is developing its PAL Programme with a pilot running from Semester Two until the end of the academic year.

PAL Leaders will mentor current Foundation year students enrolled on Inquiry Based Learning and Preparing for Success: Self Development and Responsibility for Semester Two. PAL sessions will be included in student timetabling and each student will receive a one-hour session per week, per module.

Would you like to become a paid PAL leader?

PAL Leaders will be facilitating one-hour, weekly group sessions mentoring Foundation year students enrolled on the modules specified above.

Whilst we would like PAL Leaders to have previously completed these modules, this is not essential. Foundation Year students would also benefit from PAL Leaders who have had a variety of experiences both inside and outside of the university. We will look to consider students based on their application and discussion with the Peer Support Coordinator.
