Hockey Coach

Job title:                       Sports Coach - Hockey

Location:                      High Wycombe Campus

Grade/salary:                up to £20 per hour

Hours:                          Three hours per week

Term 1:                        Monday 1st October – 7th December

Term 2:                        Monday 21st January – 29th March

Qualification:                  Level 2

 

Main purpose of the job

Bucks Students’ Union is looking for a level 2 Hockey coach to train both the men’s and women’s Hockey teams on Monday nights throughout term 1 and term 2.

Both Teams compete in the BUCS league on Wednesday Afternoons and Train weekly in Wycombe

You would be expected to be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about your sport and driven to help provide suitable coaching for a group of mixed abilities.

The successful candidate will need to have their own public liability insurance for coaching.

 

Responsible to

Activities Coordinator (Competitive Sports), Student Activities Manager and through them, the Membership Services Manager.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  1. To coach both the men’s on women’s competitive teams
  1. To ensure coaching is suitable for mixed abilities
  1. To keep accurate records of all participants attending the sessions and send to the Sports Coordinator at the end of the month.
  1. To make sure sessions are interactive and fun for all participants.
  1. Signpost volunteers and players to local clubs.
  1. Attend one-to-one meetings with the Sports Coordinator
  1. To follow the code of conduct laid out in the coaches handbook
