We’re delighted to share that BNU and Bucks Students’ Union have been shortlisted in four categories at the 2026 Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCA) – the leading higher education awards based solely on student feedback.
The nominations reflect both the strength of our student experience and our sector-leading partnership with the Student's Union in supporting students.
We have been shortlisted in the following categories:
- Student Support
- Students’ Union
- International
- Supporting Students through the Cost-of-Living Crisis – a special category
This nomination builds on our strong track record at the WUSCAs in recent years, including wins for our cost-of-living support, as well as last year’s wins - University of the Year and Students’ Union of the Year, both for South-East England.
The WUSCA awards are based on more than 42,000 verified student reviews, collected through campus visits and online submissions via the Whatuni platform. As part of this process, the BNU team and Student Ambassadors worked with Whatuni across our campuses to gather hundreds of student testimonials.
Professor Damien Page, Vice-Chancellor, said: “We’re delighted that direct feedback from our students has once again led to BNU being shortlisted across a range of categories. It’s fantastic to see both our student support and our partnership with Bucks Students’ Union recognised in this way. These awards are especially meaningful because they are based entirely on the voices of our students, and I’d like to thank everyone involved for their continued hard work in supporting them.
“Thank you to everyone across the University for their tireless efforts - day in, day out - that has led to well-deserved recognition across four categories. We can all take great pride in this collective achievement!”
Jean-Marc Amagoua, President of Bucks Students’ Union, added: “2026 marks 10 consecutive years of Bucks Students’ Union being shortlisted for Students’ Union of the Year at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards. I’m immensely proud, the tenacious pursuit of the betterment of the lives of students demonstrated by our team is inspiring, and the fact it is annually recognised by our members is an award in itself. It’s also extremely rewarding that our work, in partnership with BNU, in supporting students through the ongoing cost of living crisis is being recognised.
“International students are a hugely important community at BNU and we have never been more focused on welcoming them, supporting them and helping them thrive in their new environment. I’m pleased to see our university being acknowledged in this category.”
The Whatuni Student Choice Awards are the only UK higher education awards based solely on verified student reviews, offering prospective students a genuine and unbiased insight into university life.
Winners will be announced on 21 May.
