We believe in good quality, affordable training with all courses being delivered by highly trained instructors.

Bucks Students’ Union is proud to deliver a range of short vocational courses through the British Institute of Innkeeping Awarding Body (BIIAB) that are open to everyone, not just students. The courses range from one to four days in length which are all delivered at our award-winning venue and conference rooms.

Some courses are accredited which means once passed, you will receive an accredited certificate from the BIIAB and individual credits.

Award for Personal Licence Holders
This qualification is aimed at anyone who wishes to work in licensed premises. Anyone who authorises the sale of alcohol to the public (as per the legal requirement in England and Wales) is required to have a suitable qualification.
Award in Customer Service Excellence (licensed hospitality)
This qualification is aimed at front line staff in licensed hospitality venues. The qualification gives candidates the knowledge and skills that they need to deliver quality service – on time, every time.
Emergency First Aid
This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.
Level 1 Alcohol Awareness
This qualification is for you if you wish to educate and inform both children and adults about the social, economic, career and health impacts of alcohol.
Level 2 Award in Door Supervision
This qualification is aimed at anyone wanting to work as licensed security in the UK. Under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, all door supervisors must hold a licence to practice issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
This qualification demonstrates compliance with food safety law within licensed premises. A ‘must-have’ for anyone involved in food preparation and food service.
Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF)
This qualification is to provide learners with knowledge of health and safety principles relevant to any work environment.
Level 3 Certificate in Hospitality Business Management
This is a professional development programme that delivers real business benefits for experienced licensed retailers and key staff who want to improve their skills. It consists of three core units and nine optional units.
Personal Licence Holder

Accredited certificate – on completion of this course, candidates will hold a licensing qualification with which they can apply for their personal licence.
