Our Additional Skills Training Programme will really help bolster your CV and make you more employable. In a competitive job market, it’s vital that when you graduate you have more on your CV than just your degree.

We also provide a range of skills-based workshops and certified courses for all students, absolutely free of charge, which are a great way to boost your employability. To help you in your journey to your chosen career, we have published a range of employability postcards. Each one covers a different key skill, such as customer service, negotiation and communication, with 5 top tips to remember. Physical copies are available to collect from the Union reception.

Each year, we vary our programme of training sessions to cover the topics that you have asked for. In the past we have held sessions on public speaking, negotiation, chairing meetings, interview skills, and simply how to put your new transferable skills into your CV.

We try to make sure there is something for everyone, with all sessions being completely free, courtesy of the Big Deal - so get involved and gain a new skill for your CV. If you don’t see something that takes your fancy, get in touch and let us know what skills you would like to develop. To see the full list of what's available, check out our What’s On page. For more information or to suggest something new, please email sutraining@bucks.ac.uk.

In the current situation we are able to offer both online and in person training through the Big Deal.
