Sport for Fun

Get involved with your friends and take part in a variety of recreational sporting activities, most of which are free of charge.

Sport for Fun is funded by Sport England as part of the University Sport Activation Fund. In 2014, 54 institutions across England – one of which was Bucks New University – received an University Sport Activation Fund Award after going through a rigorous application process. 

The aim of the University Sport Activation Fund funding is to encourage as many students as possible to engage in sport and physical activity and retain these students in activities throughout their time at university.

As the name suggests, Sport for Fun is all about social and recreational activity as opposed to competitive sport. We’ve made sure that different activities take place on different days so there is always something for you to try. The majority of our recreational activities are free of charge, so it’s the perfect opportunity to come along with friends and try something new.
