The Task:
Today we will be walking through Sands Banks Nature Reserve and tree popping to reomve excess vegetation. This will help the chalk grassland habitat, essential for butterflies and much more.
Timings (please note these timings are approximate):
1pm: Arrival for safety briefing, please don't be late!
2.30pm: Tea & coffee break
4pm: Home time, thanks for your support!
What to bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. You will need a hat and suncream if it's sunny.
Please bring plenty of fluids. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Access:
Sands Bank is a steeply sloping site and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
Please note:
Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.
Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
