Overview

A recent national survey revealed the shocking pervasiveness of negative attitudes to Muslims among the British public. Significantly, prejudice against Muslims is highest among the university-educated and professional occupational groups. This suggests universities need to do much more to challenge Islamophobia and prepare graduates who can serve as agents for positive change both in their communities and professions. With this objective in mind, BNU’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee will be hosting an online panel event featuring an academic expert, an activist, and BNU alumni to discuss how anti-Muslim prejudice can be challenged on campus and beyond. Students are invited to attend. There will be time to ask questions and contribute to the discussion. Questions for the panellists can also be sent in advance. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
