Meet and Greet Airport Staff (Heathrow and/or Gatwick Airports)

Job Description
Reports to: Operations Coordinator/Airport Transfer Supervisor
Pre-Course:
Attend staff training and induction before first arrivals day.
General:
- Perform ‘Meet & Greet’ duties at Heathrow or/and Gatwick airport, greeting students at terminal gates and escorting them to the coaches/taxis booked for them.
- Ensure all students have a positive and enthusiastic ‘St Giles welcome’ on arrival and a warm goodbye on departure.
- Escort departing students to departure gates and ensure they safely go through security.
- Liaise with the Airport transfer Supervisor/Operations Coordinator and airport team to ensure all students are safe and accounted for at all times.
- Liaise with coach drivers and taxi drivers, where required, to coordinate pick up points.
- Keep accurate records of arrivals and departures
- Travel with students from airport to centre, if required.
Safeguarding:
- Take responsibility for the welfare of all St Giles Juniors students. Report any safeguarding concerns to the Operations Coordinator.
- Check IDS of students/suppliers to safeguard students at all times
- Take responsibility for students when escorting them through busy areas and crossing roads in and around the airport.
- Complete required online safeguarding training prior to commencement of contract.
Other:
Represent St Giles in a smart and professional manner and wear your St Giles T-shirt and/or hoodie (provided) whenever on shift.

Person Specification
Essential
- Eligibility to work in UK Experience of working with speakers of languages other than English
- 18+ years old
- Enthusiasm, energy and maturity
- Confidence in managing groups of children/ teenagers to ensure student safety and discipline
- Ability to react positively to last-minute changes in a calm, collaborative and professional manner
- Can-do, approachable, positive and friendly attitude
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the airport/local area
- Experience working with children and/ or teenagers
- Ability to speak a second language
Weekly Schedule
Working days are on Sundays between 7:30am and 9:30pm at either London Gatwick or London Heathrow airport (please specify your preference) and Wednesdays between 7:30am and 9:30pm at Heathrow airport. Your shift will be up to 8 hours in total either starting at 7:30am and finishing at 3:30pm or starting at 1:30pm and finishing at 9:30pm. You will get a 30-minute unpaid meal break and receive a reimbursement for any food and drink purchased at the airport up to the value of £12 per day.
The cost of train tickets between a Brighton station or a London terminal station and the airport will be reimbursed weekly.
Salary
£12.71 per hour plus accrued holiday pay.
Returnees
At the end of the successful completion of their contract, returnees will receive a bonus based on the number of consecutive summer seasons they have been employed by St Giles Juniors since 2023.
- 3 or more summers (2023, 2024, 2025) - £180
- 2 Summers (2024 and 2025) - £120
- 1 Summer (2025) - £60
