BECOME A KEY WORKER: HELP THE ELDERLY AND VULNERABLE IN THEIR OWN HOMES
Uncertain Future or Time To Do Your Bit?
Are you facing the risk of redundancy, unpaid leave or reduced pay? We can help! As a Home Companion for Right at Home you will be classified as a 'Key Worker' and can really help support those most vulnerable during this Coronavirus national crisis and get paid for doing it. What’s more, by joining us today, we can support each other in making a difference at a time when it has never counted so much.
About You
You may or may not have previous care experience, it really does not matter. We have learnt that many of the following words describe people who excel and enjoy working as a Home Companion: Kind, Reliable, Friendly, Compassionate, Chatty and Honest. You will need a full UK Driving Licence with access to a car.
The Role
Our Home Companions spend a minimum of 1 hour with each of our elderly private clients who live in their own homes in Beaconsfield, Loudwater, Chalfont, High Wycombe and surrounding areas. Duties differ from visit to visit. Whilst some clients require varying levels of Personal Care, many just need a little help getting their meals prepared or keeping on top of basic housework, gardening or going to the shops. One task that will be ever present is the ability to make a good cup of tea and have a friendly chat.
Are You New to Home Care?
As a brand new Home Companion, going into someone’s home to deliver care and support can seem a daunting prospect. To ensure you are fully prepared all staff undertake a thorough training program followed by regular ongoing and refresher training. Your initial home visits will always be carried out with a colleague whilst you ‘find your feet’. You will also have management support on every home visit you then make. Never will you be ‘thrown in at the deep end’
Flexible Hours of Work
Can you commit to 15 hours or more per week? Perhaps you are looking for around 20, or 30 or 40 hours per week, which is great. We offer work in the mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends which allows your job to fit around your home life. Generally, we are visiting clients 7 days a week from 7am - 10pm.
What’s In It For You?
Whilst the competitive pay of £9.60 rising to £14.40 on bank holidays, per hour of care delivered, PLUS: holiday pay, paid mileage, realistic travel time between clients and company pension contributions are all important, what most of our Home Support Assistants say they value is; being part of a supportive team, having their suggestions listened to, learning new skills and doing a job that consistently delivers personal satisfaction.
