Details

A local company is looking to recruit some students to help with several areas of their drama workshops! Targeted at school age children you can apply to work in a variety of positions:

Make-Up

We intend to run a course based around stage make-up and simple prosthetics, this course will include a fun history of stage make-up etc as well as practical fun.  The course will be aimed at boys and girls aged 8-13 approx. It will also be available as a birthday party option.

We will be looking for someone with a passion for make-up and the desire to demonstrate their skills and create fun looks for the course attendees.  There will also be a practical element where the kids can try to create “looks” on each other.

The individual will not take responsibility but assist in the delivery, however the long term potential is limitless.

Film

A course will run as a key part of the “film and drama” packages we offer a 2 day film course.  This is run by a drama teacher who has strong experience of film.  The aim of the course is to firstly have the opportunity to understand the history of film making from the inception of cinema to the present day.  Camera work will play a significant part but will utilise equipment including an iPhone that the students will realistically have access to.  The students will learn to use iMovie etc.  This individual will be a technical facilitator assisting on their final work with experience of iMovie.

Hours will increase as the person is available from mid December into next year, it can be part time or progress into more.

Drama

We are also looking for a drama graduate for quite a considerable amount of work.  They will need to have a drama/acting qualification coupled with the desire to coach/teach/inspire children.

All roles can offer part time work all with the potential to lead to more if and when appropriate.

Hours and days to be confiremed, but the idea is to run a 3 day Drama course 14-16 December and the film course on 17-18 December. The make up course will be on the 19th December and probably 23rd.

You will receive over minimum wage at 18-20 yr olds £7 per hour, 21-24 yr olds £8.50 per hour and 25+ £9 per hour.

It is hoped that we will create a regular team of people working for the company to offer after school clubs and weekend workshops and perhaps to offer full time employment at some point in the future.
