Job Title: Sports Development Project Officer
Department: Sport Development and Physical Activity
Salary: £23,000 - £28,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week
Main Role Focus: Leading on projects across South Buckinghamshire
Location: The role location will be flexible, with the option to work in our office at Halton Tennis
Centre or remotely. It will also involve occasional travel to our numerous sessions across Bucks.

As a Sports Development Project Officer, you will play a crucial role in planning, implementing, and evaluating projects aimed at improving community engagement, physical activity levels, and overall health and wellbeing of Buckinghamshire residents. You will work closely with community stakeholders, local organisations, and partner agencies to deliver high-quality initiatives that make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and the wider community.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
? Design, plan, and manage sports development projects in line with AITC's goals and objectives.
? Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources required.
? Source, apply and report on external funding.
? Coordinate project activities, ensuring effective implementation and timely completion.
? Monitor project progress, evaluate outcomes, and report on key performance indicators.
Community Engagement:
? Organise community consultation events to gather feedback and involve the community in project decision-making processes.
? Collaborate with local community groups, schools, and sports clubs to identify needs and opportunities for sports development initiatives.
? Foster positive relationships with community stakeholders, maintaining regular communication and providing support and guidance as needed.
? Develop and deliver initiatives that are accessible, inclusive, and meet the needs of diverse community members.
Partnership Development:
? Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant local organisations, agencies, and funding bodies.
? Seek opportunities for collaboration and leverage external resources to enhance the impact and sustainability of projects.
? Actively participate in partnership meetings, working groups, and relevant networks to share knowledge and best practices.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
? Collect and analyse data on participant engagement, programme outcomes, and community impact.
? Produce comprehensive reports and evaluations to measure project success and inform future program design.
Marketing:
? Work with our marketing officer, providing ideas to recruit and retain participants, especially hard to reach/inactive individuals.
Qualifications and skills (Ideal candidate):
? Degree in sports management, public health, project management or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
? Proven experience in sports development, project management, or community engagement.
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse individuals and groups.
? Experience and/or training in applying for funding.
? Experience in partnership development and collaboration with external stakeholders.
? Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
? Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
? Passion for improving individual’s health and wellbeing
