There has been a spike in cases of international students getting scammed or involved in fraudulent activities unknowingly. This could involve paying a new employer money upfront with a promise of a bonus at the end of the month. We wanted to let you know that Bucks Students’ Union can guide you.
Here are some common features of a scam or fraud.

They might speak in dramatic terms, saying there are ‘serious problems’ with your immigration status or talk about deportation or cancelling your visa, and then ask for you to pay a fine, send a payment or share personal information.
If you are unsure if it is genuine, do not give any personal details or information and report the incident to your international student advisor. We have support services in place if you think you might be in this situation, it’s better to ask for help. You can speak to the Students' Union Advice Centre for financial worries.
