I was Vice President, Student Involvement, in 2022–23 and then had the chance to reshape the role into Vice President, Achievement & Belonging, for 2023–24 — which was honestly such a highlight. Evolving the position into something more meaningful and impactful was a challenge, but in the best way.
Over the two years, I grew so much — professionally, in leading change, working with senior staff, and helping create lasting memories for the students — but I also grew personally. I became more confident, more resilient, and way more comfortable backing myself and putting my ideas out there!
If you’re thinking about running, the best advice I was given is this: you only ever meet people who regret not running — never anyone who regrets running. And I can honestly say that’s true. It’s an experience that will push you, shape you, and probably surprise you in the best possible way.
