Hello, my name is Wilkie Coles, and I am proud to introduce myself as the new Student Voice Officer for the Students’ Union at Buckinghamshire New University. I’m excited to begin this role by focusing on an issue that matters to many students at the Uxbridge campus – parking.
I have recently launched a student survey to gather real experiences and honest opinions about parking costs and availability. Many students commute by car, often multiple days per week, and the cost of parking can quickly add up. Over time, this becomes more than just a daily expense — it becomes a genuine financial consideration that can affect attendance, stress levels, and overall student experience.
This survey is about raising awareness and starting a constructive conversation. By collecting clear, accurate data from students themselves, we can present a strong and balanced case to the university about the potential for on-site parking access or more affordable parking options.
My aim is simple: to ensure commuting students feel heard, supported, and considered. Your input will help shape this campaign and push for positive, practical change. Let’s work together to make student voices count.
