We are the Official Basketball team for Buckinghamshire New University.
Alongside running professional training sessions, for the main squad, the basketball team also runs open court sessions called Basketball4Fun. Anyone and everyone are allowed to come to Basketball4Fun to play the game we all love. For the competitive squad, we have expert coaching which helps you improve your ability on the court.
Joining the basketball club will allow you to meet people who love the game of basketball. You’ll gain brothers and sisters, on and off the court. You will also gain competitive experience as we play against different universities across the academic year.
We run team training sessions every Monday from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. We also run open gym sessions which allow players to come and work on their abilities individually. Our Basketball4Fun sessions take place on Thursday from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. All training sessions and basketball for fun are held in the Events Hall at the university.
In the team training, we are coached by a professional, who teaches us plays, both offence and defence. In training sessions, you are pushed to get the best out of yourself, both physically and mentally.
The only requirement to join the BNU Basketball team is that you must have the desire to learn and improve. You must be hardworking and respectful, to your coach, your teammates and the back office. You must want to win and be ready to play your hardest from tip-off to the buzzer. Be ready to push and be pushed by your team because, at the end of the day, we want to win.
