Transport & Address:
We will be working around the old watercress beds area of Wye Dene adjacent to Funges Meadow. We will meet at the Chiltern Rangers depot from 9.30/9.45am to get your waders and then drive over to Wye Dene. Unfortunately there isn't any free parking on Fennels Road, there is a pay and display car park next door. The postcode is HP11 1SL.
The minibus will be running as usual for anybody who wishes to get a lift from the Lido car park (The Rye, High Wycombe). The bus will leave at 10.00am promptly.
The Task:
Today we will be working in the river clearing litter and excess vegetation. We'll also be tidying the pathways, removing overhanging braches and brambles and there wil be plenty of litter to pick, something for everyone!
Timings (please note these timings are approximate):
09.30-9.45: Meet at depot to get your waders
10.00: Minibus departs from Lido, please don’t be late!
10.15: Arrival on site for safety briefing
11.30: Tea & coffee break
13.00: Minibus arrives back at Lido, work finishes, time to go home, thanks for your support!
What to bring:
We will supply waders.
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. Bring a hat and suncream if it's sunny.
Please bring plenty of fluids. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
