We are pleased to let you know that Bucks New University and Bucks Students’ Union has successfully maintained its Fairtrade status!

You may be aware but every other year Bucks Students’ Union and Bucks New University work together to renew their Fairtrade status. Each year we complete a great number of campaigns and events to raise the awareness of Fairtrade around campus and to educate our students why Fairtrade is important.

Each year we also celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight. This year, so far, we have celebrated by handing out free Fairtrade bananas to all our sports teams for some energy and then to the students and staff around campus. Our sabbatical officers have also held a tea and coffee session here in High Wycombe, handing out free Fairtrade teas and coffees with Fairtrade sugar and educating everyone on why Fairtrade is important.

For the next and final week of Fairtrade Fortnight look out for a few more activities and events. On Monday our sabbatical team will be in Uxbridge with their teas and coffees along with a Fairtrade quiz. A chance for you lot to win some Fairtrade chocolates, we will also be organising a swap shop for you to donate a tin can for One Can Trust and in return you will receive a Fairtrade goodie, we have also organised an information stall where you can find out more about what Fairtrade actually means and the big event you’ll be looking forward too - a Faitrade chocolate fondue

Keep a lookout on campus for our Fairtrade activities for this week and get involved!
