Nominations for our annual elections have been open since the start of the new year and in that time you may have been thinking about putting yourself forward for one of our fantastic leadership opportunities but you just weren’t quite sure of which one to go for. You might have wanted to see what role best suits your interests or your skill set. Perhaps you didn’t know what a manifesto is or how to write one? Maybe you want to know some top tips to help put a winning a campaign plan together once you’ve submitted your nomination?

Well look no further as we introduce this year's ‘Learn to Lead’ week. This week has been designed in order to help students better understand the types of leadership roles available within the Union and aligning these with their passions and skills. Additionally, we want to make sure students feel completely supported throughout the process and feel adequately prepared in taking the steps to run for a position. That’s why we’ve designed a programme of activity that looks to inform our students and potential candidates about everything involved with the annual elections from the nominations process to putting together a successful elections campaign and everything in between.

So this year's ‘Learn to Lead’ week looks a little something like this:

Monday 8 February 10am-12pm online - Challenging Behaviour Awareness

Monday 8 February 4-5pm online - Follow the leader – Bucks SU and its leadership roles

Tuesday 9 February 2-3pm online - Skills to pay the bills – what positon should I stand for?

Wednesday 10 February 2-4pm online - Goal Setting

Thursday 11 February 12-1pm online - Manifesto’s – the “write” way

Thursday 11 February – 3-4pm online - Campaign to win: putting together your campaign

Friday 12 February - 10-12am online - Public Speaking

All of the above sessions are drop-in so there’s no need to sign up in advance. Just turn up and come and find out everything there is to know about Bucks Students’ Union annual elections and let us help get you on your way to becoming one of our student leaders. We can’t wait to see you there!
