It has been a busy busy week for our sports teams this week. Every team except American Football had a fixture to play.

The week started with the BUCS Swimming Short Course Championships in Sheffield. Bucks had four swimmers enter the event. All the swimmers smashed their PBs and got some great race experience ready for the Long Course Championships in February.

On Wednesday Men's Badminton kicked off the action in the Events Hall against King's College London. It was a tough match but they held their own and finished with a 4-4 draw.

Unfortunately none of the football teams who played managed to secure an on-pitch win, however, Bucks FC 4s were awarded a win over no-shows and our Varsity rivals, Roehampton. Both Netball 1s, Netball 2s and Women's Badminton also struggled against tough opposition.

Women's Volleyball also lost 1-3 but their match was extremely close and evenly matched. The girls were holding the lead halfway through the third set but Brunel managed to fight their way back in front.

Amongst the tough matches, there were some real highlights. Women's Basketball travelled the long journey to Chichester and dominated them, winning 79-44. Women's Hockey also played away, winning 6-2 against UCL. Both Women's Basketball and Women's Hockey are unbeaten so far this season!

Men's Rugby had a great preparation in the lead to their match against Brighton 2s. The game was really close, with the lead changing hands throughout the game. In the final push, Danny Pearson scored the game-changing try during the last minute of play, giving Bucks their first win of the season! Men's Rugby are Bucks Students' Union's Team Of The Week.

Next week is the last 16 round of the South East Conference Cup. Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball are both at home so make sure you're in the Events Hall from 15:30 to watch the action. Next weekend also brings the first game of the season for American Football, so good luck to them!
