BNU Climbing is extremely active as a society and cater for climbers of all abilities. We have a strong core group who regularly attend and many other members who always put in the effort to come along whenever they can.
At the beginning of the academic year we host a couple of sessions for the ‘Give it a go’ week, in which anyone who wishes to try it out can come along and experience all aspects of climbing in the safe hands of our inducted members. We have weekly sessions running at The Climb in Amersham, fortnightly sessions at High Sports in Wycombe Leisure Centre. When members are free we head to centers in London and the surrounding area.
April 2019 will see a group of us heading up to north Wales for a long weekend of climbing, bouldering and gorge walking in the Welsh valleys. Don’t worry, for all those who like their creature comforts, we are staying in a beautiful house hidden away on the hill side with a sauna and hot tub! More trips are being planned for 2020, possibly including a trip abroad.
Whether you’re a seasoned climber or trying it for the first time, BNU Climbing is accommodating for all. Our members’ abilities massively vary, however, as with most climbing communities – we all support each other and help push one another to achieve our own climbing and fitness targets.
Regular updates on all society activities can be found through the Facebook group (linked below).
