Do you have a keen interest for chess or ever wanted to learn how to play? Chess society no longer has a committee or any members but do you have what it takes to give Chess Society back some life? If so please email email@example.com for more information.
Joining a society is one of the best ways to make your life at university more exciting. It's a great way to have a more varied social life. You can meet new people who share similar interests and widen your social network beyond just your course mates or the people you live with. It's great to be a part of something, especially a group of like-minded people.
For those on a committee, you can develop some really useful skills whilst working through your society accreditation (Teamwork, leadership, organisation, problem-solving etc) which will benefit you once graduated and looking for employment.
Each society can apply for up to £500 which can be used to organise events, attend trips or even invite guest speakers which can give you new perspectives, outside what you might be learning in lectures. Thanks to The Big Deal, joining is free! So what are you waiting for? Take a look at our offering and get stuck in!
