UN Sustainability goals

"The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The 17 Goals are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030." You can read more about each issue on the UN website.

Join Bucks Eco Warrior team

Every year, Bucks Students’ Union takes part in the national environmental accreditation scheme, Green Impact. This project is open to students, Union and University staff across the campus. Throughout the year, we try to improve our environmental performance by progressing through a workbook of actions and implementing as many as possible.

Although it’s called Green Impact it’s not just about planting trees or getting your recycling in order, sustainability is a lot more than that, touching on issues of equality, community, curriculum reform, campaigning and much more. Our vision is that through sustainability initiatives on campus alongside the content of the taught curriculum, students will graduate from higher education being equipped to deal with the global challenges we currently face.

How to get involved?

Do you have a passion or some knowledge in sustainability? Then we need you! This year we want more students to get on board with our plans. Taking part will add to your volunteering hours and help you develop a wider knowledge of green and sustainability issues in your local community.

Impact Assessment

This Impact Assessment was carried out for the start of the 2019-20 academic year and details the Union's most signficant environmental impacts together with a plan as to how we will minimise our impact over the course of the next 12 months.
