Adaeze Ubah
One BNU, Every Campus, Every Voice.
Hi, my name is Adaeze, and I am an international nursing student based at the Uxbridge campus. I am standing for the role of Vice President Student Affairs and Campus Experience because I want every student at Buckinghamshire New University to feel heard, supported, and included, no matter their course, background, or campus.
As students, we all share the same university, but our experiences can feel very different depending on where we study. Too often, students feel disconnected from the Students’ Union, unaware of opportunities available to them, or unable to raise concerns in a way that leads to real action. I believe this needs to change. If elected, I will work to strengthen communication between campuses and ensure that student voices are not only listened to but acted upon.
My main priority is creating a more united BNU community by improving collaboration across all campuses. I will push for more cross-campus events, better promotion of union activities, and improved engagement so that students at Uxbridge, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, and beyond feel equally involved.
Secondly, I will focus on student feedback. I will introduce regular Student Voice Forums, drop-in sessions, and anonymous feedback platforms where students can raise issues and suggest improvements. Listening must be consistent, accessible, and meaningful.
As an international student, I also understand the challenges of settling into a new environment. I will advocate for stronger support systems for international and diverse student groups, ensuring everyone feels welcome and represented.
Finally, I will work to improve overall campus experience by pushing for better wellbeing support, student spaces, and inclusive activities that fit around different timetables, including healthcare and placement-based courses.
If elected, I promise to be approachable, proactive, and accountable. Together, we can build a stronger Students’ Union and a better BNU experience for all.
