Better Standards. Greater Opportunity. Stronger Belonging.
Why I’m Standing
I’m standing for Vice President Achievement and Belonging because student communities shape your university experience. As a HEVO and Sport For Fun Ambassador, I helped drive strong participation and recurring engagement across events. As Chairman of Volleyball, I led the club to achieve accreditation for the first time in years. These experiences showed me that clear standards and active leadership create real belonging. If you choose to get involved, that experience should be organised, inclusive and worth your time.
Raising the Standard of Experience
Training at the start of the year is strong, but accountability should continue throughout. I will:
- Introduce termly check-ins for clubs and societies to review communication, inclusion and member experience
- Ensure expectations set at the beginning of the year are upheld consistently
- Offer earlier support where committees face challenges
- Improve transparency in how groups operate and use funding
This is about protecting members and ensuring every group delivers what it promises.
Expanding Opportunity
Getting involved should feel welcoming, not intimidating. I will make it easier to understand how to join and what to expect. This includes supporting clubs and societies to showcase themselves through short social media features and interviews, so students feel confident attending their first session. I will also strengthen leadership and volunteering pathways so involvement builds real skills alongside friendships. Being part of the Students’ Union should help you grow, not just fill your time.
Belonging is built through strong communities and real opportunity. That is what I will strengthen.
