Lauren Milne
Your SU, Your BNU
My name is Lauren, i'm am studying Psychology and im running to be VPAB 2026/27 .
My key campaign points are inclusivity and accessibility for neurodiverse students, awareness of EDI dates and improving accountability for commuting students.
I plan to increase inclusivity and accessibility within SU events for students who are neurodiverse. This would be through working with the events team to open up the lounge during busy events for students who feel overwhelmed and by working with the SU to create an events Accessibility pledge to ensure inclusivity of all students.
I also plan to spread more awareness around EDI dates that take place throughout the academic year. Some EDI dates I would like to spread more awareness around would be disability Awareness month, LGBTQIA+ History Month, International day against Homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, diwali, bollywood to name a few examples.
My plan for commuting students would be to improve the accountability for commuting students experiences. This would be through working with the University to bring forward a policy in regards to commuting students and by holding the university accountable for the delivery of this policy.
