My name is Ritamary Benny, and I am standing to be your Vice President Education & Welfare(VPEW) to ensure every student at Bucks has a fair, supportive, and empowering university experience.

My journey at BNU has shaped my commitment to this role. In my first year, I focused on building friendships and finding my community, learning that stepping outside your comfort zone is essential to growth. In my third year, I joined the Leadership Academy and realised how valuable it would have been to get involved earlier to focus more on career development in my final year. I have also organised three student party nights, helping to create inclusive spaces where students could connect and feel part of the community.

I bring strong leadership experience. I served as a Student Voice Officer representing international students, ensuring their concerns were heard and raised at the right levels. I was also an elected Student Trustee, giving me experience in governance, accountability, and strategic decision-making within the Students’ Union.

If elected, I will focus on:

• Improving academic experience, fair marking, and clear feedback

• Strengthening the course representative system so student voices create real change

• Working with the Advice Centre to enhance welfare, mental health, and financial support

• Holding the University accountable for delivering on its promises

• Being a strong and informed voice for international students while representing all students equally

As your Vice President Education & Welfare, I will lead with integrity, be approachable, and work tirelessly to make life better for students at Bucks.
