Overview

Off the Kerb Productions in association with Comedy Central presents Comedy Central Live, and we're continuing with another strong line up in Jen Brister, Phil Jerrod and Jonny Pelham.

Jen Brister

After performing in front of the legendary Spike Milligan and receiving the luminous and prestigious title of having ‘a great pair of Bristols,’ Jen knew that comedy was the way forward. So with the help of two jokes and a push up bra she was on her way…

Since that heady day Jen has performed stand up in clubs all over the country (literally) as well as sketch comedy in numerous groups including the Loose Connection.

In 2006 she took up her first one woman show “Me My Mum & I” to the Edinburgh Festival where she received excellent reviews. “Brister ticks all the boxes – she’s confident, energetic and knows how to deliver a line for maximum laughs”

Phil Jerrod

'The first thing you notice about Phil Jerrod is the quite alarming amount of face-foliage that clings to his chin. You’d expect the possessor of a look like that to be an out-and-out comedy oddball, but it turns out that behind the beard is a more conventional kind of comic, albeit one whose instinctive mastery of his form immediately marks him out as one to watch. Jerrod’s humour is straightforwardly observational, dealing in stories about his middle-class background, his working life and, yes, his beard; stories that are immediately relatable, concerning subjects that are familiar go-tos for many young comics. What distinguishes him is the casual brilliance of his writing, rolling out inspired gags and exhibiting incredible fluency throughout. We’re sure to see him on our TV screens soon; his mix of accessibility and originality means he’s tailor-made for the panel shows of 2015' - The Guardian

Jonny Pelham

Runner-up in both the Chortle Student Comedy Award and So You Think You're Funny in in 2012; third placed in the Laughing Horse New Act Of The Year competition 2013; and nominated for best newcomer in the 2014 Chortle Awards.
