Overview

Suicide currently stands as the biggest single killer of men aged under 45 in the UK.

CALM; The Campaign Against Living Miserably is a charity devoted to supporting men in the UK, who suffer with mental health. It’s apparent men don’t feel comfortable with speaking out about how they feel, which in turn has serious consequences. However, fortunately there are many charities now focusing on improving men’s mental wellbeing.

Student Asia Teagle is launching this mannequin challenge and asking you to challenge the stigma and support men with mental health difficulties by signing our new member to BNU, the ‘mannequin for men’s mental health’. This campaign launches on the 2nd of March in the Lounge at 12.30. Come along and learn more about the campaign and be one of the first to sign the mannequin! This will be on-going throughout March and will be heading over to the Uxbridge campus in the next few weeks.

The CALM helpline is for men who are down or have hit a wall for any reason, who need to talk or find information and support.
