The majority of you will have to work whilst studying at university, whether that’s to earn play money or simply pay for food and bills. 

Aside from the earning potential, the transferable skills you can gain from a part-time job will be a great start to your chosen career, whatever that is, and provide essential detailed experience for your CV.

We have many opportunities of paid work at the Students’ Union throughout the year and all our current vacancies can be found on our website but if there isn’t anything that suits you, please see the ‘vacancies’ section below for part-time opportunities with other local organisations.

Events and Technical Assistant

To directly assist the Events & Licensed Trade Manager, Events Assistant and other commercial managers in securing, preparing and completing hires, promoting all our commercial avenues, whilst maintaining the technical side of all equipment on and off site.


School Officer

As school officer you would head up representation in your school, liaising with student reps to ensure that you have a sound understanding of the issues affecting students across the variety of courses within your school.


Bucks Student Editor

To collate, review and proof all student written content for The Bucks Student. You will take a lead in the creative and editorial decisions of the paper and be responsible for making sure content is ready on time for production. You will also act as a representative of the publication and Students’ Union at all times.


Event Technician

A varied and interesting role, this opportunity includes running the entire production for all live nights within a team of five. This role is an enjoyable and rewarding, working in an extremely sociable environment. We expect a high level of commitment and a real passion to be part of a dedicated working team. You will need to be hardworking, fun and always ready to work with a smile on your face.


Freshers Helpers and Head Freshers Helpers

To help students integrate into Bucks New Uni and the local community and provide a friendly welcome to new students during their first few weeks of term.


Bar Staff

Working with the team to ensure the smooth running of the bar within the Venue at our High Wycombe campus and consistently delivering the highest customer service standard.


Event Staff

A varied and interesting role, this opportunity includes stewarding responsibilities as well as that of door entry and running the cloakroom.


Event Security

A varied and interesting role, you will work closely with other security and venue staff ensuring the delivery of our duty of care to all customers.


Bucks Buddy

We are recruiting Buddies to support our applicants from when they apply and throughout their first term at Bucks.


Support Worker

Exciting opportunity for support workers to assist a lovely 17 year old young man with autism to participate in the local community and various activities.


Cookery Club Leader - Smart Raspberry

We're looking for enthusiastic people who love to cook and who are up for a challenge to join our fantastic team of teachers.

Part Time Coaches and Event Leaders - Dan the Skipping Man Ltd

Delivering innovative days in primary schools, you will gain great experience of working in a small, creative and innovative business and you will be on the front line and given a lot of valuable responsibility, training and support from within the business. Sales skills are also required but all skills (including skipping) will be taught. No two days are the same and you can work 1-2 days a week.


Community Engagement Lead - Bright Young Things

The Community Engagement Lead will be primarily responsible for gathering leads for Bright Young Things through a variety of means, including engaging with community groups and services to build partnerships and through direct community engagement by distributing leaflets and collecting contact details at events and in the community.


Sports Coach - Lions Sports Academy

We are looking for coaches who are Level 2 qualified or above and are looking to get coaching experience by becoming a coach in our Lions Coaches Network.
