A birthday win

The fourth week of fixtures has come and gone and whilst our clubs are giving it their all, the results are yet to catch up with our Bucks spirit.

The Netball 1st team played at home this week and continued their winning streak with a result of 46-28 against Imperial, who they will face again next week in their first cup match of the season. The Netball 2nd team were also at home this week playing against King’s College but unfortunately, they couldn’t bring the win, losing 19-57.

Men’s Basketball had their third game of the season this week, and my goodness it was a close one. The team travelled to Reading and played well the whole way through, but that wasn’t enough to keep Reading out of the hoops as they ran away with a 58-55 win over our Bucks team. The boys will play their first home game next week at 7pm in the Events Hall, so come on down and show some of that Bucks spirit.

Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd Men’s Football teams all travelled away to London this week for their fixtures. The 1st team went to play City Men’s and came away with a point with a one all draw. The 2nd team had a tough game against UCFB, eventually losing 2-0. The third team unfortunately followed suit and lost in the last minute of their game against South Bank with a final score of 3-2 was the final score.

Finally, our Futsal team have continued their winning streak beating Hertfordshire 8-0 in their latest game.

Our game of the day this week was Men’s Volleyball Team who played at home this week against Roehampton. Our men’s team won 3-0, which was an amazing birthday present for their Captain Raffy Pantaleon – Happy Birthday Raffy!

We’d also like to shout out all of the Players of the Matche that were recognised by their Captains for excelling during their game: Kubilay Ozdogan, Derek Taylor, Hannah Jackson, Lydia Butler-Hewitt and Dwayne Wilson.

Each week your Student Activities team chose a Player of the Day, this week it's Kubilay Ozdogan for boosting everyone’s spirits both players and spectators. Team of the Week is Men’s Volleyball for their spectacular win against our rivals Roehampton.
