Cup, cup, and away

This week was the first week of the cup fixtures for our Bucks teams and what a week it was.

Men’s Badminton hosted St Georges for the first game of the week with an unfortunate 7-1 loss. The boys carried themselves with great spirits and had a great day none the less. Buck’s Men’s Basketball had a better week with a 76-40 win over UCFB meaning they progress into the next round of the cup.

All four football teams played in the cup this week, our Bucks FC 4th team played the UCL 3rd team, who are two leagues above them in BUCS, leading to a tragic 20-0 loss. The Bucks FC 3rd team played at home against the Surrey 3rd team who are also a division higher, with Captain Danny Auckland scoring an own goal Surrey went on to win 9-1.

Our so far undefeated Bucks FC 2nd team were at home again for the first round, they played Greenwhich who again are a division above but that didn’t stop them. Team captain Yasin lead the team to come away with a 5-3 win and they are through to the next round of the cup! Our Bucks FC 1st team were away again this week to Kingston 3rd team and they were able to come back with a 7-2 win meaning they also progress to the next round.

Men’s Volleyball had their first league game of the season against Brunel and although they lost 4-1 the guys absolutely loved it and can’t wait for the season ahead of them. Women’s Volleyball travelled to Kingston this week with a 3-0 loss for us. The girls will be getting in lots of practice for the next games.

Congratulations to those who made Player of the Match this week, it's such a great achievement especially in the cup week.
