If you're starting or returning to university this autumn, you may be eligible for a free Meningitis B (MenB) vaccination through the NHS.

Living in halls, meeting lots of new people and sharing social spaces are all part of the university experience and they're also why the NHS recommends the MenB vaccine for eligible students under 25 coming to university.

The vaccine is free and available at participating community pharmacies across England. It helps protect against Meningitis B, a rare but serious bacterial infection. To get the best protection before the start of term, it's a good idea to book your first appointment as soon as you can.

If you're not sure whether you're eligible, or you'd like to find out more, visit the NHS website or speak to your GP or local pharmacy.

Looking after your health is an important part of making the most of university life, and this is one simple step you can take before you arrive.
