CUP WEEK!

So we kicked of our first cup week in great fashion! With an outstanding win percentage of 62.5% for Wednesday’s games it’s our most successful Wednesday this Season.

We started off with the Men’s Badminton against London South Bank. A home game, the boys already started off with an advantage as London South Bank only brought 4 players. Automatically putting us 2 points ahead however, we still managed to win another 3 games making the final score 5-3 to us. Player of the match was Theo Seah.

We then had the Men’s Football 1s, 2s and 3s all travelling away for their first round of the cup. The 1sts travelled to Chichester and came back with a 3-2 win advancing them to the next round, player of the match went to Will Mullarkey. The 2s and 3s weren’t so fortunate. The 2s lost to Imperial 2nds 1-3 and the 3s lost 0-7. Sadly they won’t be progressing in the cup. Good luck to the Men’s Football 4s who will have their first cup game on the 21st November.

Netball 2s travelled to Greenwich with a strong team and came back with a fantastic 28-9 win! Having lost both their previous games, this was a great achievement, advancing them into the next stage of the cup. This away win gave them the title of Team of the Week so well done Netball 2s!

Men’s Rugby had a home game against Goldsmiths and absolutely smashed it with a 47-5 win. We performed well but it was noted there is still plenty to work on. Next week they are playing our Varsity rivals Roehampton so fingers crossed for them to put us in good stead ahead of Varsity this year. Players of the match went to Alexi Hitchin and Brandon Tester.

Finally, our two Volleyball teams set to face Medway Men’s and Women’s later that evening. The men started off in a tough game and unfortunately came away with a loss. However, the Women stepped it up and brought home the win with 3 sets to 1. Well done to the girls in their first game of the season and to starting this year right!

Well done to everyone and good luck to all teams next week for hopefully another successful Wednesday!
