We're not too far away from the winter break and to keep you all feeling your best in the run up, Brandon and Emily have been busy setting up a whole week of feel good activities running from Monday 5 December to Friday 9 December. We've dropped a few hints in our newsletters recently, but we now have everything in place and ready to go. With plenty of wellbeing and volunteering opportunities, this Winter Feel Good Week is all about tackling loneliness, so keep and eye on our what's on page and look out for the evens surrounded by snowflakes.
Kicking off the week, Brandon and Emily will be taking over our Instagram to give you the low-down on everything coming up. We have a variety of skills sessions, activities, awareness sessions and even some free Wellbeing Boxes for you to pick up. We'll also be hosting a Cosy Night In where we'll be showing Inside Out and turning The Lounge into the ultimate comfy space with free hot chocolate and popcorn. It's going to be a great night in so get your friends together and bring your own blankets for extra cosy vibes.
To help tackle lonliness this winter, we'll be creating Christmas hampers for the elderly residents at Ryeview Manor Care Home and we need your help. We are asking for students and staff to bring in donations for the hampers. Any donations would be much appreciated, please bring any donations to the Bucks Students' Union reception. We are asking that any donations are brought to the Students' Union by Wednesday 7 December 2022.
We are asking for a selection of Toiletries and sweet treats:
- Shower gels
- Christmas sets
- Toiletry sets
- Quiz / puzzle books
During the week we have lots of volunteering opportunities taking place and if you'd to volunteer to help pack the hampers or deliver them, then drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteering is a great way for you to group up with some friends, or even make some new ones whilst giving a little something back to those in our community.
