Each year, elections are held for our three sabbatical officer positions. The three sabbatical positions are full-time and form our sabbatical team and help deliver the student experience that we are so passionate about.

Hey guys, gals and everybody else, my name is Ben Parmar and I’ll be your President 2017-18

Crazy to think that I’ll be graduating with a First Class Degree in BA (Hons) Film and Television Production this September but the journey there has been a wild one. I gradually got more and more involved with the Union since I arrived at Bucks. In my first year I got elected as the Student Rep for my course and peers, a role I managed to keep for the following two years. I also got involved with some of the extra curricular things the Union has to offer, most notably Bucksnowoc. which I then became Treasurer of in my second year. In hopes of taking my representation role further, I applied to be a Faculty Officer but was unsuccessful. This made me more determined to get involved and in my 3rd year I reapplied for the role and got the job! But I didn’t stop there, alongside my studies in my final year I was a Head Freshers Helper, Student Trustee, Union Council Chair as well as being involved with many other aspects of the Union.

What I’m trying to say is getting involved with your Union, in whatever capacity you wish, will not only bring endless new levels of experience and enjoyment to your time as a student, but will also aid you with your studies and develop you as a person to ensure you become a well-rounded, successful, proud and employable graduate when your studies come to an end.

As your President, my door is always open to help you with whatever you need. That is my priority.
