Online Student Rep Training
As a Student Rep, it is vital for you to complete Rep Training to ensure you fully understand the role and its responsibilities and give you an insight into all the great support resources we have at the Students' Union.
These sessions cover all the essential information required to make a confident start in the post, including:
- An in-depth introduction to your role and responsibilities
- An introduction to the Representation team and how we can support you during your time as Student Rep.
- Introduction to University committees and wider student representation
- An exploration of methods for gathering and presenting feedback
- A discussion of the topic areas you collate feedback on for Programme Committee Meetings.
- A guide to signposting students to other support services.
In order to complete online Rep Training, you must watch the below videos and complete each quiz following each video. There are 5 videos and 5 quizzes; you must finish all 5 quizzes to complete Rep Training. Please make sure you are logged in (in the top right corner, using your BlackBoard details) so that you can view the quizzes.
Standard vs Condensed Pathways
Standard Pathway reps are students who are on full-time, non-placement undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the following schools: Art, Design and Performance; Aviation and Security; Business and Law; Creative and Digital Industries; and Human and Social Sciences.
Condensed Pathway reps are made up of four groups:
- Students on part-time programmes
- Distance learners
- Students on foundation programmes
- Students who complete placements, including all programmes in the School of Health and Social Care Professions and Nursing and Midwifery.
