The Task
Join us at Kingsmead Recreation Ground for a day of many varied activities. Hedge planting, woodchipping, and if time allows we will get in our waders for a bit of spring cleaning in the river.
And lots and lots of litter picking both in and out of the chalk stream!!
Plenty for all ages and abilities. Stay for an hour or all afternoon.
Timings (please note these timings are approximate):
12.30: Arrival on site for task and safety briefing, please don't be late!
14.00: Tea & coffee break
16.00: Work finishes, time to go home!
What to bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. You may need a hat and suncream if it's sunny.
Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Access:
Kingsmead is on flat ground and suitable for all.
Please note:
Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.
Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
