Sport Specific First Aid & Taping

Date: Wednesday 8th October 2025

Time: 10:00-17:00

Location: Room TBC, High Wycombe

 

Description: 

Do you do a sport? Do you want to help your teammates out by being the designated first aider?

Join this session to learn all about first aid in sport. It will cover basic life support and AED (defibrillator) training whilst keeping the focus on managing incidents and competently assessing whether a casualty should be returning to activity or not.

Youll learn: the role of the first aider, managing an emergency, communication and casualty care, bleeding (minor and severe), burns, choking (adults), fainting, health and safety (first aid) regulations, resuscitation (adult CPR), seizures (adult), shock, unconscious casualty, key taping skills for the ankle, knee, shoulder, wrist and fingers.

Skills gained: Assessing an Emergency Situation & Prioritising Action, CPR / how to find and use an AED, Unresponsive Casualty (Breathing), Defibrillator, Burns, Minor Injuries, Assessment

Access infomation: The rooom will be in High Wycombe and will be entirely accessible. However, there is a physical element to this course, where you will be on the floor performing CPR. You will need to be able to do this in order to participate in the course. if you have any questiosn related to access, please dont hesitate to ask.
