Wellbeing Skills for Student Leaders

Description: 

This workshop covers practical tips on how to support a peer, how to start a conversation, and signpost, all within the boundaries of your role. The workshop is aimed at students in leadership and voluntary roles (such as course reps and committee members). Student Leaders may need to look out for their peers who could be facing challenges whilst at university. The session gives students the skills, knowledge and confidence to support their student community, whilst maintaining the boundaries of their roles and looking after their own mental health and wellbeing.

You will learn:

  • An Overview of student mental health & chalenges
  • The student experience
  • Understanding when someone may be struggling
  • Communication techniques
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Signposting
  • Boundaries and self care

Access infomation: The room is very accessible with a lift to the floor and an accessible toilet on the floor too. The session will be recorded too, so you can look back at any time.
